Africhar Coal

In the studio on Mondays...

One of the design aesthetics of principle we agree upon is simplicity in favor of complexity during implementation. Michael short-hands this principle as 'African', meaning pairing aesthetic simplicity with functional utility to its logical end point; one can use the ground as an anvil if necessary and still do something impressive like repair a broken axle. Occasionally, the principle does something seemingly magical, like pedal a donkey in a bicycle basket down a highway.
